Arts and Science Academy of Canada

Kindergarten, Elementary school, and Secondary school

Junior and Senior Kindergarten

At the age of 4 (or a little younger) most children are ready to attend Kindergarten. For them we have prepared an enhanced program which includes Math, English, Science, and French. Students participate in fun educational activities, have outdoors playtime, a warm lunch, and before they realize it, they have completed the educational material for grade 1 while still in kindergarten. Give your children a leg-up in education and help them start their schooling years right with a solid foundation, curiosity, and a desire to learn more. Admissions to JK and SK are open for all children capable of engaging in active physical exercise.

During the Summer we offer children aged 4 to 8, three weeks of Summer Camp full of fun, ballet and stretching classes, friendship and sun!  If you are interested please follow this link.

Elementary School: Grades 1 – 8

Our comprehensive learning process includes not only academics at the highest level found in the current educational system but also the potential to develop children physically into healthy and strong individuals in mind and body; this is achieved through ballet classes where children gain great posture, flexibility, strength, healthy habits and discipline of the mind. Students in primary school take part in an enriched educational program designed to help students reach their full potential. Our students are exposed to a culturally rich curriculum with emphasis in English, Math, and French – all fueled by creativity and discipline!

Here are some comments by our students after a Math Olympiad:

Nathaniel: Last week I took part in the Math Olympiad that was held in Oakville. I expected lots of challenging problems but the Olympiad questions were easy, and two of them were hard. I tried to use my logic and do all the questions. As well there was Sudoku. My number was 305. The Mathematical Olympiad was fun!

Daniel: On May 21, there was a Math Olympiad in Oakville. To my surprise, the Olympiad questions were not that hard. Most questions were based on divisibility, number patterns and problem solving skills. The most interesting questions was a clock problem. Unfortunately, I did not answer two questions.

The Academy uses the Big History Project curriculum that presents students with the entire history of the universe – scientifically accurate – as the conceptual framework for learning Mathematics, English, Science, French, Social Science, and Arts. Why is this great? The program was developed by an Australian history professor and is currently supported by a range of scientists and educators including Bill Gates. Having a framework for all knowledge and learning helps students develop a worldview that is consistently interconnected and meaningful, where, like in reality, everything follows everything else. That is why our students are usually ahead of the public education program, particularly in mathematics. Help your children advance faster and retain more knowledge. Students get ready for an easy transition into High School.

Secondary (High) School: Grades 9 – 12

Canadian and international students graduate from the Academy with the Ontario Secondary School Diplom which provides them with the opportunity to continue university or a college education. Academic subjects are taught concurrently with an artistic subject of their choice: ballet, music, vocal, and/or visual arts. A high level of mentorship and engagement in the learning and artistic training process provide students with the optimal environment to acquire important life skills.

High school can be a difficult time for students, the volume of information increases exponentially compared to previous years and the expectations are suddenly serious and much higher. Those students that complete primary school at  Arts and Science Academy of Canada find little difference from their normal routine – they are prepared well for the rigorous demands of high school. Those students who attend our Academy starting in high school soon learn the Academy’s style of learning and integrate fully to the environment of hard work after learning about discipline and joy in their personal achievements. Our programs are fully compliant with  the province of Ontario’s High School Curriculum for all courses.

All of our teachers are not only experts in their fields, some are also lecturers at universities and know about the requirements for new university students – our curriculum is designed to help students be ready and excel from the very first day at a higher education establishment, be it in Canada, USA, Europe, or anywhere else in the World.
